IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN.
I SAM- M. Green being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament.
1st. I give unto my beloved wife Elisa R. Green a life estate in my house and a lot of land attached to it, say 32 or 33 acres. lying between the Buncombe and Rutherford roads. The furniture is to remain in the house for the benefit of her and my son George W. E. Green, until he comes of age when a division will be made of it between her and him and he is always to have a home in the house or I give the fee simple to him.
2nd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son George W. E. Green all the residue of my property both personal and real, together with the portion of my wife property which falls to me or him by marriage after her death.
1 I wish my body buried in a christian like manner as my exrs may think proper.
2 After the payments of my just debts which my exrs may do in the manner they may think best perhaps the best way is to hire the negroes out and rent the land or work them together after payment of debts, they can either sell or otherwise as they think proper. After the payment of just debts. I make the above devises. My watch I give to my son George. Executed 19th Sep 1826.
